Who Are You?
The Band of the Eye is me (Chris), Stu
and Wil. We're based in Bristol. I started out in my native Ireland,
mostly as a solo musician, and wasted time fiddling with drum
machines that I should have spent getting a band together. I've
played with a few crappy bands and spent time - I should say 'did'
time - as a solo performer, which I hated. This is the first really
good band I've been in. Stu and Wil are excellent musicians who, for
various reasons, have so far been in bands that haven't worked out,
and I'm lucky to have them aboard T.B.O.T.E.
Why should we come and see you?
We put in a good live show. One of the
comments after a recent gig of ours was that 'there's a real band
here to go with the recordings', which isn't always the case in the
Pro Tools age. We don't see gigs as part of some grand scheme of
Rock Destiny; we enjoy each show for itself and that enjoyment comes
across to the audience. Another reason to see us is that there'll be
a few free CD's, so don't be shy afterwards. Lastly, and I suppose
ultimately, we're offering something different. We're not
reinventing the guitar, but we don't sound like the other bands
doing the circuit and we don't just sound like our influences.
