Blindfolds Aside
Who are you?
Blindfolds Aside.
How long have you been together?
We have been together for around a year and a half.
How did you get together?
I was a student at Loughborough University and had known James
through a mutual friend and a mutual respect for good music. At the
time I was doing some solo acoustic gigs due to a lack of musicians
in the town in order to form a band. Will lived with James and had
been playing guitar since he was 14. Ben had returned to
Loughborough after being in Jesse James for the nearly ten years and
James and Will bumped into him in a local drinking hole, they
started talking about music. The idea of a band was then formed with
James starting to play Bass.
Describe
your music for someone that’s never heard you before?
Heavy riff laden tunes with interesting melodies, sing along
choruses and pounding beats.
How was
2007 for you?
2007 was pretty safe, with our first gig coming in February. Before
this we had been locked away rehearsing and defining our sound.
Since February a string of other gigs and the recording of our debut
4 track e.p has set up in a position from where we can progress.
And what
plans do you have for 2008?
Plans for 2008 involve the production and sale of the e.p as well as
a whole host of as many gigs as possible. We wanna play live,
wherever and whenever.
What’s
your live show like?
Our live show is an energetic affair to say the least. Brutal,
accessible music backed up with a lively show you just don't wanna
miss.
What’s
the best gig you’ve played so far?
The best gig we've played together would have to be Tom's bar in
treforest, deep in the heart of the Welsh valleys. Burlesque Dancing
and good music rounded off with a great crowd to match!
And your
worst?
The worst gig we've played so far would have to be our second show
at the Charlotte in Leicester. Was the same weekend as Reading
festival and there was no-one there. On top of that, string
breakages made the night a little subdued.
